Ghana I am here and I love you already! I fell so in love with this beautiful country from the moment I arrived. I have been here for a little over a week now and havent been able to share my experiences with you guys or photos as much as i wanted too . I've just been enjoying the people, my students, the country and I personally decided to stay disconnected through out the week just to make sure i was enjoying each moment.  Thankfully my sweet and awesome friend Orlando  took a lot of sneak peek pictures that i would be able to share on my blog with you guys.

We were staying in Accra which is the capital of Ghana. On our first day We decided to go for a walk and explore the local stores around the neighborhood. We got a warm welcome from some local drummest and even got some drumming lessons. I was also able to do some shopping and got some great traditional African pieces.First few days after we arrived  we walked through some rural villages, normally those are places some of us would want to stay away from but something made us go any way and we got to meet the most loveliest people .We met many people and their families and of course us being foreigners they had many questions they wanted to ask and pictures they wanted to take with us hahaha. We were loving it !  Anywhere you go to in Ghana you can pretty much expect to meet the most amazing, humble and genuine people ever I believe thats one of the major reasons why I love this country so much and i dont want my trip to end any time soon! <3

So when booking my flight to Africa i knew i wanted a layover. Not only because it would be cheaper but i wanted to explore a city I never been to before. Most Layovers to go to Ghana were in London and Amsterdam so i purposely chose the 9 hour layover in Amsterdam and left a day earlier than i was suppose too leave originally . Amsterdam is truly a beautiful city and the people are just phenomenal. It's a small city so it is possible to get alot done in just a few hours. I was able to finally meet my friend Christi who i met on instagram a few months ago (got to love social media hahaha) we had breakfast at a awesome restuarant called Nacional until my next flight. Here's a few pictures of things i saw

THE DAY IS FINALLY HERE !!!! I can not believe I am in Amsterdam @ 1 p.m waiting to start boarding to go to Ghana, Africa.

I want to start off by thanking everyone who helped me with making this trip possible . Thank you to my loving family and friends who not only donated but shared my campaign and who used their words of wisdom and encouragement. To my sweet co wokers who donated school supplies to give to my students and to YOU! For those who went above and beyond just to make sure this trip could be possible and that I would be able to give my students so much more.

My heart is so full with the amount of love and support I have gotten since i started planning this trip in February 2015. A place I wanted to go to eversince I was in junior high school is finally becoming reality and with a purpose. A purpose to serve, love, teach and care for children . One of the main reasons I made my blog was to be able to share this new journey and I thought it would be a good way to show those who have helped me how no matter how big or small they gave they were able to impact and help someone half way across the world. We are all in this journey together and it's not about the amount you give that matters what matters is the heart behind it. If it wasnt for the help, love and support from all of you half the things I plan to do for my students wouldnt even be possible! So thank you once again everyone from the bottom of my heart this truly means the world to me.

Since i wont be staying for very long my goal is to continue helping my students when im back home. Cant wait to keep you guys posted on what i have planned. This is only the beginning :) #THEBESTISYETTOCOME
